#-I'd Big Apple with you anytime!
Lindy4 here I come.
It was most tiring dancing today. After my normal Lindy3 class, I took the Charleston Stroll class, which really kills my calves and feet. And then, immediately I went for the Lindy4 auditions. Only after everything did I start eating dinner, which came up to about 2200hours. But I got in in the end. Actually I'm the only guy who got in out of the 4 who auditioned. And for the ladies, 2 out of 5 got in. Seems like the selection process was quite rigorous.
During the auditions, the let us do a Big Apple first, which is always fun. But considering how I just came out of Charleston Stroll class, I don't think my legs could've taken much energetic moves. After that was a mid-tempo dance with Sing and a fast one with Joanna. During the debrief, they said how they could really see I was enjoying the big apple. And Sing even said,
"I would Big Apple with you anytime."
How flattering. She also said she always enjoys social dancing with me. Joanna said I have the rhythm and competence in body movement to go a long way as a lindy hopper. She also said how she knew since Lindy1 that I could become a great dancer. But right now, I have to work on my vocabulary, which is rather limited, as well as getting rid of all my salsa styling and moves, which Sing puts really nicely,
"Do you want people to watch you dance and say 'Oh that's a salsa dancer', or 'Oh that's a great lindy hopper', or 'that's a lindyhopper who does salsa'?"
The horror. Let's stick with the pure lindyhopper, unless I do West Coast Swing numbers. Joanna says the exact same thing, but also adds that they want to help me become a very good lindyhopper. So I'll just try my best not to fall too much to the "dark side". haha.
Can't wait for class!
