#-Big Band Bash 07
Big Band Bash was...well...nothing spectacular, not that I expected anything more. Although playing on the stage was quite nice since its surrounded by a pond, the weather was anything but. And I hate perspiring when I perform, especially nowadays that my skin is so sensitive. Our band was definitely not too good, but I didn't really care, never did anyway, considering how most of the people are either not very good or not very commited. But neither were the other bands anything special to look out for.
I was hoping I could dance there, but looking at the narrow path and how the stage was blocked up, I decided against it, even though there were quite a few dancers there, and I was pretty sure Kali wanted me to dance. Adam and Wantin tried dancing but from where I was sitting even I was afraid they would drop into the pond. That would've been quite a sight.
So far, I'm not getting much progress on the recording for the Ash Music Scholarship. Most of my takes have some mistake here and there, and it just isn't good enough to be submitted. I recorded a solo Autumn Leaves just now and it came up to 7 minutes, which is way too long considering my 2 movements of Eccles only takes up 5 mins. I'll have to cut it down the next time. Hopefully Karen will be able to help me get my hands on the MD player and microphone so that I can use her studio to record. It's not like it'll sound any much better, but at least there will be less distractions and interuptions. I used Robin's Creative Zen to record tonight and it didn't turn out half bad. All I had to do was to use the smoothen tool in SoundForge to make all the attacks less forceful, and add a little bit of reverb and I get quite decent sounds. Have to get it done soon to hand it up.
RJC Jazz concert Swingtime 07, will be held in RJC LT2 on 20 Apr 07, tickets will be out soon. I'll be trying to get the Jitterbugs down to dance and maybe Derek to hold an open jam session post-concert. Hopefully it'll have a good turn-out, and then they can start organising bigger events in the following years. GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!!
