#-SJO!

Too bad I can't play for the Singapore Jazz Orchestra all the way till I go off in October. But on the good side, I will be playing for their recording! The new bassist apparently won't be able to get all the charts down by the recording, so Derek asked me to play instead, which means another recording with my name on it, and a Big Band one at that! I can use it for demo next time, since it'll be professionally done. Fantastic!

I was supposed to get Derek and Akaho and BoonChye in for a post-concert jam after the RJ jazz concert, but now they are having some problems with stolen and broken equipment in the music room, which means I can't allow outsiders to use the music room. It's really sad, because it really would have been great if the jam could be held and all the good musicians jamming together, but alas it seems it won't crystalise this time.

I just submitted the recording I did for the Ash Music Scholarship. Now I'm praying and waiting for the results. In the end, I didn't use the MD from Karen, because the mic wasn't working, so I had to stick with my normal microphone, although it actually sounds not bad. Karen says the Autumn Leaves is good, but the Eccles 1 has pitching problems and the articulation on Eccles 2 is inconsistent. And those were the best takes I could manage for the day. Hopefully it'll be sufficient for that scholarship, and even better, if they allow me to do jazz instead of classical!

Tomorrow, the whole battalion will be going to watch 300 the movie. Although I would never want to watch anything with the battalion, but hey it's free, can't complain man. After that, I'm going to try to sell tickets for Swingtime at Jitterbugs. There are quite a few song that can be danced too, so I hope alot of people would want to go.
