#-Dorothy, the TinMan and the Wizard of Oz
Not that I've been inactive, but there hasn't been much to blog about. Sure, as the time draws nearer to my departure from Singapore to study I feel more and more anxious and excited, and yes my friends have been back from overseas, but other than that, not much has happened.
Hardly any gigs, besides substituting WahYong at Barstop last week. None next week either, but only a UK Medics gathering. It should be good to get to know the rest of the medics going to UK to study as well. Honestly, I still want to make more friends in UK than stick with the Singaporeans or Malaysians again. As if 20 years with them was not enough for me. Which is probably why I don't really feel like being too active in whatever Singaporean Societies or activities there. Why should I? When there are so many other people from all walks of life and different races to mix with. Granted, Ian is probably correct in saying that it'd be more difficult to click with them, but I think I can handle. Besides, my school hours are probably longer than the other courses, meaning I'll see these people more, allowing me more time to get to know them. Although I won't be one to go drinking or clubbing, but I guess there'll be some who involve themselves in activities besides the stated ones.
My brother bought a modified Playstation Portable, so it can play games from the memory card, which is actually rather clever, so that you don't have to carry a few discs around to change games. So I've been getting sore thumbs for the last 2 days from playing Bleach. Discount the fact that it's in Japanese, the game is one hell of a VS game. All the unlockable characters and the moves they do are seriously cool stuff. I've never really been much a fan of VS games, but this is just fun, partly because I watch the anime.
I have to start packing soon, perhaps next week. I think I have almost everything I need, except a new pair of slippers and a calculator. In fact, I probably have more clothes than most people would bring there, and possibly more skirts than some girls. I bought 2 Chaos skirts last week and a new belt; one of them patterned cut-out belts. Not really functional to hold up my pants, but for me they serve a different purpose, especially when I wear low cut and tight bottoms.
Joanna bought my Physiology for me, which means thats all the medical books I have to bring there. Had a nice lunch with her, and crashed Grace Chew's house, when she was preparing her costume for the NUS medics Dinner & Dance. Imagine this: she was wrapping her boots in aluminium foil! To become the Tin Woman, from Wizard of Oz. Apparently, the theme was supposed to be Rock Stars, but it was too boring for some people they decided to turn up in all kinds of funny costumes.
Ok now to go watch the last DVD of Alias2 so that I can finally progress to Alias3, but then after that I'll have to look for the 4th and 5th season.
