#-Good pay

Who would've thought dancing gigs would pay so much. My first Swing gig, not only was it a big event at NDP 2007, but I got paid S$250, just for that 3 minutes of dancing. At first Sinclair told me that I would only be receiving an honourarium, so I was expecting perhaps like S$50? But this is good stuff. Not only are dance gigs shorter than music ones, but it took much less time to nurture myself up to such performance standard as conpared to music. Think 1 and a half years for swing but at least 4 or 5 years on music. Hmm maybe I should do more dance gigs.

But the only thing about dance gigs is the practice sessions and how it gets boring because of the choreography. I mean repeating a fixed pattern over rehearsals for a couple of months is not really my thing. If I played in a bar, without practice, sure the pay is lower at maybe about S$150 a night, but discount all the practice and maybe it does seem to pay better in proportion to the total time spent.
