#-The kite and the string.

I just read a friend's blog, and came across something she wrote that was quite apt. In fact, I've read the book by Joshua Harris before, but I mist have forgotten the analogy he gave of Wisdom and Romance. I shall quote:

"The kite of romance might want to fly high with the strong winds of attraction, but without the string of wisdom holding it back, the kite will eventually come crashing to the ground. The wisdom that gives us patience does meet with tension, but it is this healthy and necessary tension that keeps the kite from crashing.

Long/short periods of waiting on God (and later, any rejections or other setbacks) will never feel pleasant, but God always uses these times to put us back on the right track. He reveals our wrong thinking, our wrong attitudes, and any idols that have crept into our lives. He refocusses our eyes on Himself - if we submit to His working."

Ah yes, the wait may be long, but the Lord had good plans for me.
